ARTIST - Anthony Quinn
This would have been his 87th year if he had chosen to stay with us. But Anthony Quinn died on June 3rd of 2001.
So many things have been written, documentries and movies have been made. You would think there is nothing left to say. But the man was a “Great” and in death will become “Greater” than he was in life. Anthony Quinn was that kind of person. Passionate, driven, powerful and multi -talented. He left behind raw talent in the wings, waiting for the curtain of their lives, 13 children. They are emerging, and will gain their own power.Anthony Quinn was in search of the”Meaning of life” and had created a series of stone lithographs he named “The Great Spirit” we have obtained that series and the book that describes and holds the 20 lithographs. He dedicated a series of 10 called “Tribes Speak” to the native nations. This private collection had never before been released to the public. The BBC filmed a documentary of Anthony Quinn here in Las Vegas, at the gallery in June of 2002. The film is to be released in April of 2003.the gallery obtained the collection from the Quinn family. Audrey Roberts worked with Quinn for many years. Ms Roberts works with Kathy Quinn, now to maintain the Quinn legacy. Her observations of Quinn as he worked are enhancements to the collection.
